With the changing weather, Karachi has seen a concerning increase in respiratory infections, including influenza and similar illnesses.

Health experts have noted an increase in cases with flu-like symptoms, particularly among the elderly population. Since the beginning of this month, doctors have been addressing a notable uptick in respiratory tract infections, with patients presenting symptoms such as high fever, cough, body aches, runny nose, headaches, and sore throats.

Many of these cases are effectively managed with symptomatic treatment.

Healthcare facilities in the city are also dealing with cases of chickenpox and measles. Health experts have issued recommendations to the public to mitigate the risk of contracting the influenza virus.

These precautions include the use of facemasks and regular handwashing, as the virus is easily transmissible from one infected person to others. Infected individuals are advised to stay at home for at least 24 hours, limit contact with others, and refrain from traveling to prevent further spread. As the weather transitions, these measures are crucial to protect public health in Karachi.
