Inzamamul Haq’s Resignation as Chief Selector Accepted by PCB

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially accepted the resignation of Inzamamul Haq from his role as the chairman of the national men’s selection committee and the junior election committee.

Haq voluntarily stepped down from his position on October 30, 2023, with the intention of allowing the PCB to conduct a transparent inquiry into allegations of conflict of interest concerning the team selection process.

To investigate these allegations, the PCB has established a five-member fact-finding committee, and the results of this inquiry will be promptly submitted to PCB Management.

Inzamamul Haq assumed the role of Chairman of the national men’s selection committee on August 7, 2023, and was subsequently appointed as the chairman of the junior men’s selection committee last month.

In the interim, former Test spinner Tauseef Ahmed has been appointed as the national chief selector on a temporary basis following Inzamam-ul-Haq’s resignation due to conflict of interest concerns. Tauseef’s responsibilities include the selection of the national squad for the upcoming Australia tour after the World Cup 2023.

Tauseef Ahmed brings a wealth of experience and cricket insights to his new role, where he is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the national cricket team’s future.
