Pakistan Won by 81 Runs Against Netherlands


On Friday, Pakistan won by 81 runs against the Netherlands!

Opting to bat first, Pakistan, led by their captain Babar Azam, managed to put up a total of 286 runs on the board in 49 overs.

It was Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan who played important roles in Pakistan’s recovery after the team had a instable start, being reduced to 38-3 in just 9.1 overs. Both Shakeel and Rizwan contributed with impressive scores of 68 runs each. Bas de Leede was the standout performer for the Netherlands, finishing with an impressive spell of 4-62 in his bowling.


In response to Pakistan’s total, the Netherlands struggled to find their footing, managing only 205 runs in 41 overs. Bas de Leede was their top scorer, contributing 67 runs from 68 balls, while Vikram Singh, of Indian origin, made 52 runs from 67 balls. Pakistan’s Haris Rauf was the standout bowler, claiming three crucial wickets, while Hassan Ali also chipped in with two wickets.

Looking ahead, the next matches on Saturday will feature Bangladesh taking on Afghanistan, followed by a clash between South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Saud Shakeel expressed his satisfaction with his performance and credited his positive mindset for unsettling the Netherlands. He acknowledged his hard work in recent months and thanked the coaching staff for instilling confidence in him.
